Esri ArcGIS for Developers
Esri's ArcGIS for Developers at Escape from New York
We at Esri appreciate the opportunity to take part in the Escape From New York hackathon, and we look forward to working with you all, in any way we can, to help you bring your creative ideas to light. ArcGIS is a mapping technology platform for managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data. Our web based location platform will enhance collaboration inside the participating teams and as part of an interagency approach to the mass evacuation problem. This will allow the teams to focus on solving the problems presented instead of worrying about building solutions. If you find that you would like those capabilities included in your project, here is what Esri will be bringing:
- Free Developer subscriptions to ArcGIS Online. With it you can use the cloud-based Web GIS model for hosting datasets, creating maps, and tools for building apps around those maps, providing your projects' end-users with the geospatial capabilities they need to manage assets and make effective, timely, data-driven decisions. Creating location enabled apps are supported in our SDKs for all the common frameworks and our detailed documentation allows rapid prototyping. We are proud to host hundreds of repositories on GitHub. For more information see: developers.arcgis.com
- A breakout hands-on workshop during the event on Saturday where you can learn how to get started with ArcGIS and include these powerful capabilities into your applications- in the browser or on for smart phones and tablets.. For an idea of how these workshops will run, see the ArcGIS DevLabs tutorials at developers.arcgis.com/labs
- We will have staff on hand at the Esri Table to assist you with guidance, ideas, answer questions, and even help with specific technical issues that you'll be working through.
